Fire and Ice

Another one of those captures that sat in my mind for many years. After a stretch of really cold temps followed by a warm day of heavy rain the ice that covered a stream flowing into the quabbin broke up and was washed out to the reservoir by the rising stream. I had lots of cool clear ice chunks to work with!!! :-). First I collected some ice chunks and found a few cool pieces of Ice with holes in them that I put aside for later. After stacking the chunks the biggest challenge was getting the necessary captures for a couple different focus stacks with my frozen stumps for fingers. Photo © copyright by Patrick Zephyr.
