Habronattus-viridipes
(subadult male)
A few of the habronattus males in the area have this red scaling on the face as subadults. This particular species looses it completely as an adult male. I was fortunate to witness a couple adult males preforming there courtship dance last spring and can't wait to see if I can find some this year. Photo © copyright by Patrick Zephyr.
