I know, strange composition and subject. Another evening searching for something interesting to photograph. That's why I do what I do. The opportunity to be completely present and connected to the moment is priceless!! It looked like there might be some color in the sky so I took off to a spot that might have potential and spent about a half an hour wandering around in field in thigh deep snow searching for something and watching the sky. I gave up the search and plowed my way through the deep snow back to the dirt road I was parked on and spotted this puddle on the side of the road. Potential! The light was fading fast and I needed my camera to be on the ground to possibly make this puddle work. Unfortunately I never cleaned the ocean water off the damn tripod from my shoot down in Florida last week!!! I had to slam the tripod on the ground a few times to free up some adjustment and get to the ground before the light was gone. My 17-40mm is about 1 inch from the puddle in the foreground.
