Snapping Turtle

I love this time of year!!! One of my favorite things to do is explore a stream, meadow or pond and find all the amazing creatures that we share this planet with. During a family exploration, while searching for frogs and crayfish in a river close to home we found this cute baby snapping turtle. Although they spend most of their time in the water late May is the time of year when you might get lucky and see an adult female out of the water laying eggs. Photo © copyright by Patrick Zephyr.
