Hentzia mitrata

adult male

There are a few tiny jumpers (4mm) that I see very often but have been unable to photograph because they   never seem to sit still. For some strange reason I had individuals of three of these crazy hyper species decide to pose for me today. Thank you jumping spider gods!! This particular species has ridiculously long front legs. It is named after Nicholas Marcellus Hentz (1797-1856), considered the father of American arachnology. Photo © copyright by Patrick Zephyr.
